This leaves the following 6 communities with fluoridated water in the province of Québec,
  • Dorval
  • Pointe-Claire
  • Montmagny
  • Lévis: quartier Saint-Romuald
  • Saint-Georges (Beauce)
  • Châteauguay
  • with Trois-Rivières reported in the throws of a battle over fluoridation since January 14, 2014. That now represents only 1.87% of 8.21 millions Québécois with fluoridated community water supplies

Muskoka (ON), Oct 21, 2013. Huntsville Forester Fluoridation rejected by District Council decision, but later reversed by political pressure

    Why Quit?
Many reasons that can be resumed as follows:
    1. Budget & Taxation issues.
    2. Not safe.
    3. Not effective.
    4. Immoral.
    5. Unproven.
    6. Unsafe.
    7. Unnatural.
    8. Unnecessary.
    9. Unethical.
    10. Causes harm to health.
    11. Pollutes the environment.
    12. No informed consent to medication.
    13. No freedom of choice of being medicated.
    14. No one can control the dosage of water consumers.
    15. No science-based studies on safety.
    16. No science-based studies on effectiveness.
    17. Not an approved water additive.
    18. Not a regulated water additive.
    19. Not a tested water additive.
    20. Fluoridation support is not science-based.
    21. Chemical used does not meet legal requirements for use as a water additive.
    22. No Toxicology Studies and Clinical Trials as required for use of actual chemical as a water additive.
    23. A highly hazardous, toxic, fluoride industrial waste chemical liquid is used, not fit for human consumption.
    24. Uses municipal water supply as a waste disposal method.
    25. Does not meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
    26. Mass medication without medical supervision.
    27. Unproved claim of benefit on children's teeth.
    28. Does not prevent dental caries as claimed and described.
    29. Claim of no danger to health is false.
    30. Support for fluoridation is not based on any scientific facts.
    31. Delays teeth eruption of deciduous and permanent teeth.
    32. Legal liability for damage to teeth, health and the environment.
    33. No validated statistical financial proof of cost effectiveness.
    34. No valid cost effectiveness analysis ever done on fluoridation and tooth decay prevention.
    35. Chemical is used as a drug but has no DIN.
    36. Medical dictatorship by health bureaucrats.

    to Fluoridation-Free Ottawa
As of June 1, 2013, less than 2.8% of the province Québec and less than 3% of the province British Columnbia are now fluoridated. Ontario is trending downward at about 48% from an all time high of 72% a few years ago while the whole of Canada is now below 33% from an all time high of 48% a few years ago. Larger cities are the ones that now comprise the greatest part of the total of the population that is now fluoridated. City Councils in smaller municipalities seem to better understand the rather inappropriate ramifications of water fluoridation. They seem to understand that it is needlessly costly, ineffective, unnatural, unproven, unnecessary and unethical. However, they continue to defer to the misinformed and misguided authority of the local, provincial and federal, medical bureaucrats who are not qualified to recommend or even speak authoritatively for or against fluoridation.

Kingston, Ontario - decided not to implement in 2009 after CFB Kingston signalled to the city to discontinue fluoridation of the base. http://www.thewhig.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1047167&archive=true. (Article titled “East end water to lose its fluoride” no longer available in their archives as of Sep 7, 2012 but available in mine, saved on Thu., Jan. 5, 2012.)
“Utilities Kingston adds fluoride to the drinking water at the James Street booster station in Barriefield. It doesn't do so at any other drinking water plants or booster stations in the rest of the city.
The fluoride goes into the system to create a "fluoride residual" for the base. The Department of National Defence requires fluoride in the water for the base to help prevent tooth decay, according to the Utilities Kingston website.”

“Laval ne fluore plus depuis 2000, car cela endommage les installations pour l'assainissement des eaux.” Translation: "The City of Laval does not fluoridate since 2000 because it damages the water treatment facilities."

A sample of Canadian cities that have rejected fluoridation and never had it before
    1. - Dryden (ON), implementation last rejected April 14, 2008
    2. - Gatineau (QC) May 4, 2010
    3. - Kingsville/Leamington, (ON)
    4. - Longueuil (QC), after 1990
    5. - Medicine Hat (AB), after 1990
    6. - Montreal (QC), 1965
    7. - Orillia (ON), Jul 16, 2012.
    8. - Regina has never fluoridated its water supply
    9. - Sainte-Marie (QC), after 1990
    10. - Thunder Bay (ON), after 1990

The City of Montreal has never been fluoridated thanks to Mayor Jean Drapeau's intervention in 1964.

Kingsville/Leamington have never been fluoridated because the Heinz Company would not allow the water they use for processing their baby food to be contaminated with Hydrofluorosilcic Acid or Sodium Fluoride. Heinz actually recommends that you do not use tap water for their baby formula. Now isn't that amazing!

    - Prince Edward Island is 23.7% fluoridated, and is limited to Charlottetown, the capital of P.E.I.
A plebiscite on fluoridation was held in Charlottetown in 1967. Fluoridation began in that city in 1968 as well as the Canadian Forces Base in Summerside but ended there in 2008 (by order of the military). Currently, P.E.I. is focusing on preventive dental programs for children and adolescents through schools, which include topical fluoride application for the partial prevention of tooth decay: or go to the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association, July/August 2009, Vol. 75, No. 6 issue here, and click on the listing Water Fluoridation in Canada: Past and Present, page 451. It's out of date but gives you a picture of how things were back then and the progress the battle has made since. Then click on FULL TEXT. THE CONTAMINANTS THE CITY OF OTTAWA ADDS TO YOUR TAP WATER
Hydrofluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6 - HFSA, or HFS) solution is what is most used for artificial "drinking water" (tap water) fluoridation and most often contains some or all, but is not limited to, the following elemental contaminants harmful to your health in their raw, elemental form:
    fluorine (F),
    hydrogen fluoride (HF),
    lead (Pb),
    arsenic (As),
    mercury (Hg),
    cadmium (Cd),
    chromium (Cr),
    phosphorus (P),
    iron (Fe),
    iodine (I),
    silver (Ag), plus,
    uranium238 (U238),
    barium (Ba),
    radon (Rn),
    cobalt (Co),
    radium (Ra),
    polonium (Po)
and possibly other elements, depending on the batch. Elements such as Iron, Phosphorus, Iodine and others that might be considered good for our health are not bio-available and therefore not healthy for swallowing with water: if they were, you could swallow elements such as Iron in the form of filings to get your Iron. Also, they are the result of the extraction from the Florida mining and processing of Phosphate for the super-phosphate fertilizer industry and Uranium for the nuclear industry.

Short List of Contaminants: Hydrofluorosilicic acid, Fluorine, Hydrogen fluoride, Lead, Arsenic, Mercury, Cadmium, Chromium, Phosphorus, Iron, Iodine, Silver, Uranium238, Barium, Radon, Cobalt, Radium, Polonium, and possibly many others.

What is used in water fluoridation, as mentioned above, is called Hydrofluorosilicic acid, but as you can see from the preceding, it contains many impurities, contaminants not suitable for drinking purposes, some of which are actually unlawful for adding to the water supply, such as Lead, Mercury and Arsenic. This acid comes to Ottawa's two water treatment plants as a liquid, from the wet scrubbing system of the smoke stacks of the super phosphate fertilizer industry in the aforementioned extraction and processing of Phosphate and Uranium, from Florida...

The Mosaic Corporation is the waste producer and Brentag Corporation is the intermediary that supplies us with that dirty acid. They are turning a toxic fluoride industrial waste chemical slurry into a profit instead of disposing of it at some cost. They are turning an expense item into a profit. It is a banned EPA contaminant that can not be dumped into the air, any waterways, into the ocean, or into any landfill, yet here we are dumping it into our water supply for our daily consumption. How insane is that?
